Which part of this is a model, and which part is not?

Detection, categorisation and the register score are deterministic code. No model, no network call, no database: the same sentence always gets the same verdict, and the reason shown for a change belongs to its category rather than being written fresh each time. Asking for a full rewrite is the separate path, and it is the only one that sends your draft to a server.

What counts as a change, and what does GenPolish leave alone?

Nine published categories, each with a written definition. Seven are found by matching a turn of phrase. Two — repeated shapes and the reflex to turn prose into a list — can only be seen in the shape of the text, so they are reported without a replacement. Numbers, URLs, citations and Markdown are preserved by default, and the engine does not rewrite an argument.

Do you train on what I write?

No. The five browser-only tools never send anything, and they are excluded from measurement even if you accept analytics elsewhere. Drafts, results, text fingerprints, document titles, names, email addresses, passwords, payment identifiers and raw URLs are all excluded from analytics, and there is no third-party analytics recipient.

How long do you keep the text I submit?

Three copies, three limits. A working draft lives at most twenty-four hours. A stored result lives at most twenty-four hours after the rewrite ends. An account history entry keeps the original and the result for exactly ninety days, and that one is a database constraint rather than a policy written on a page. The browser-only tools keep nothing, because nothing is sent.

Why does revision history need an account?

History is private and belongs to a user, so it is read under a session; an API key alone or an anonymous identity is not enough. A success obtained without an account never enters it, even if you sign up afterwards and claim the workspace — there is no backfill. Deleting the account deletes the history with it.

Is there an API, and can I get a key today?

The contract is published, with the request shape, the responses, the taxonomy and every error code, plus an example in cURL, Node and Python. Each failing response carries a link to the entry describing its own code. Key management, however, is not connected: the API tab in settings issues and rotates nothing usable yet.
