What the rewriter improves
Paste a draft and choose a mode. The rewriter works through it passage by passage, keeps the language you wrote in and says the same thing in different words. It does not answer questions in your text, add facts or append a summary.
- Stiff, formulaic wording
- In Natural mode, stock phrasing gives way to plain words and ordinary sentence shapes, the way you would explain the point to a colleague.
- Heavy sentences
- At Balanced and Strong, every sentence is reworded with a different shape, and Strong can split long sentences or merge short ones.
- Repetition and padding
- Concise mode removes redundancy while keeping the facts, qualifications, names and logical links that matter.
- Tone
- Professional and Academic modes shift the register: direct and courteous, or precise academic prose, without new claims.

Hey Dana, just circling back on this! So basically the invoice for $1,240 is kind of still outstanding, and it was due on March 15. Could you maybe take a look when you get a sec? Everything is at https://billing.example.com/invoices/2231.

In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, it is important to note that remote teams face a myriad of challenges. Our 2025 survey of 412 managers found that 63% of them struggle to keep meetings short. Ultimately, it is not just about tools; it is about fostering a culture of trust.
Remote teams run into a lot of problems. In our 2025 survey of 412 managers, 63% said they find it hard to keep meetings short. Better tools help, but what matters more is whether people trust each other.
Lots of studies show that sleep is super important for memory, and people who don’t sleep enough basically remember way less (Lee et al., 2019). This is a big deal for students, especially the 30% who sleep under six hours before exams [3].
A substantial body of research links sleep to memory, and insufficient sleep is associated with poorer recall (Lee et al., 2019). The effect is particularly relevant for students, notably the 30% who sleep less than six hours before examinations [3].
Four modes, four registers
- Natural
- Plain words and ordinary sentence shapes, in the voice of someone explaining the point to a colleague rather than filling in a form. It is the default mode.
- Professional
- Clear and direct, courteous without jargon or exaggeration, and with no claims your draft did not make.
- Concise
- Removes redundancy but keeps the important facts, qualifications, names and logical links. Each passage stays close to its original length, so expect tighter wording rather than a summary.
- Academic
- Precise academic prose. It never invents citations, sources, results or claims of evidence to sound more authoritative.
How much changes is a separate setting, with three steps.
- Light
- Keeps your phrasing and only fixes what reads badly.
- Balanced
- Rewords every sentence while keeping what it says.
- Strong
- Rebuilds every sentence and replaces as many words as it can.
What stays exactly as written
- Numbers
- Figures, amounts and percentages, digit for digit.
- URLs
- Web addresses and email addresses.
- Citations
- Quoted passages, block quotes, numbered references such as [3], footnotes and author–year references such as (Lee et al., 2019).
- Markdown
- Headings, lists, links, emphasis and code stay in place; only the prose inside them is rewritten.
All four are on by default, and each can be switched off in the options. Protected passages are copied back from your original rather than retyped, and a result that breaks one is rejected instead of shown. Invisible characters such as zero-width spaces are cleaned out of the draft first.
What to re-read
A rewrite can soften a qualification, shift the emphasis or pick a word you would not use. Before you use the result, check that the meaning, the facts and the tone are still yours; the editor shows every change so you can reject the ones that miss. Rewriting does not prove who wrote a text, and GenPolish makes no promise about what an AI detector will say.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use it for free?
Yes, within a limited anonymous trial, with no account. Signed-in rewrites draw on your account word balance. The trial and the balance are shared with Rewrite and AI Humanizer, so switching pages does not reset them.
Will it keep my meaning and my citations?
It is instructed to keep your meaning and never to add facts, sources or a summary. Numbers, URLs and citations such as (Lee et al., 2019) or [3] are copied back from your draft exactly, and a result that breaks one is rejected. Wording and emphasis still change, so re-read the result before you use it.
What happens to the text I paste?
Opening this page sends nothing, and until your first rewrite or sign-in your draft stays in this browser tab. Asking for a rewrite sends it to the GenPolish server; from then on, the workspace also saves your current draft there so you can come back to it. Nothing you paste is used to train a model.
